Application Support Engineer

Elecosoft is a leading supplier of project management software applications, design software applications and associated services primarily for the construction industry.

We are actively seeking an individual to provide both pre and post sales support services for our Framing application that is actively used in the UK and Ireland by both timber frame manufacturers, timber frame design consultancies and structural engineers.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with CAD applications (ideally either AutoCAD® or AutoCAD® Architecture) with a further preference to having some overall general construction knowledge.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Framing Team Lead:

  • Support the customer base with technical information and to develop their knowledge by means of training in the practices of the industry and specifically the Elecosoft Framing software application.
  • Assist with the custom configuration of Elecosoft Framing software in line with the business practices of the customer.
  • Feedback to the software team any problems or bugs as well as new features required, relating to the Framing software and to assist in the specification and testing of the continued development of the application.
  • Provide software specification of tasks and procedures for new software features and improvement of existing software features. In addition, you will be required to participate in software testing.
  • Familiarise yourself at regular intervals with new software solutions being introduced by the company and also by Autodesk.
  • Contribute to the in-house training in the use of the company’s software solutions.
  • Attain a detailed knowledge of our customers’ operations and the marketplace in which they do business and in addition you are required to use this knowledge in day-to-day operations.
Essential skills/ prerequisites:
  • A good standard of advanced education.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially all Microsoft Office products.
  • To be able to communicate and negotiate at all levels (internal and external customers).
  • Preferably in-depth industry / applications knowledge.
  • Good Technical Knowledge of AutoCAD & Autodesk Software Platforms.
  • Good Technical Knowledge of the Offsite Construction Industry.
  • Microsoft Office competency.
  • The ability to work to a consistently high standard.

Working hours and location:

The normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week. From time to time, you may be required to work additional hours to fully perform your job in accordance with the needs of the business.

This may involve travel to other offices, and other locations as necessary in line with the needs of the business.
