Planning submission standard drawings
With a comprehensive set of tools suitable for all aspects of building design, Arcon Evo enables you to easily draw your building to levels suitable for planning submissions, add detailing and working drawings for building control and visualise it all in a detailed 3D model.
Develop complex roof designs
Select from any of the standard roof types in the library or use the free form roof editor and blending tool to create complex multi-roof structures. Easily edit the roof parameters from pitch and eaves height right through to wood construction details. Then modify the roof easily with dedicated tools for dormer windows and skylights.
Customise windows and doors
The library includes editable pre-designed doors and windows, including internal and external doors, garage doors and bi-folding windows for extensive window and door customisation. Select an existing type from the library and change any aspect to ensure it suits your design requirements. Using the component editor, each object can be fully edited including dimensions, materials, colours and styles or edit hinges, handle sizes to styles, frame thickness, opening type.
Advanced 3D staircase editor
The staircase editor supports many complex stair types, the flexible staircase tool now allows for much greater freedom of design. Choose from a myriad of options to define all of the key elements of the stairs, balustrades, risers and treads. Customise your 2D display to suit your preferred presentation style. You can adjust the parameters and see the changes instantly in 3D.
Take a 3D virtual walk-through
Analyse your design in detail with the 3D walk-through feature. Enter and explore your 3D model, check for space issues and the practicality of your design.
Convert 2D to 3D in an instant
With two distinct workspaces you can quickly and accurately design floorplans in our 2D construction mode and check the results instantly in the 3D model in the design mode.
All new interface
Arcon Evo represents the next level of 2D to 3D CAD solutions. Our all new design is based on years of experience and feedback from our thousands of users worldwide. Retaining the simplicity of earlier Arcon titles but with a streamlined interface, Arcon Evo is intuitive and fast to use whilst allowing complex, detailed adjustments to be made to any design.
User selectable interface elements
New to Arcon Evo is the ability to select your preferred icon set and choose whether to use traditional OK/Cancel buttons or the new dynamic dialogue box options.
Plan layout mode
Existing users of earlier versions of Arcon will have used the software in combination with Creative Lines. In Arcon Evo the layout and detailing tool is included in our new Plan Layout Mode. Enabling you to produce layouts of multiple floors, elevations, 3D views and more, Plan Layout Mode provides the flexibility for you to produce your drawings in your preferred style.
Database driven construction elements
Our new database driven content manager allows you to easily build your library of construction elements. Arcon Evo comes with a large library of elements as standard with a huge range of doors, windows, wall types etc. Save your custom elements to the database for future use.
Drag & drop or numeric input methods
Everyone has their preferred working methods and styles and so in Arcon Evo we reflect this by providing multiple methods for achieving construction tasks. Use simple drag and drop to insert objects, point and click to place walls or use numeric input methods to enter dimensions such as wall lengths.
Define the site, plot or landscape
Choose from a range of landscaping tools to mark the boundaries of your building plot or site. Break the area down into individual gardens, driveways and paths using the ground area tool. The add contours using the land topography tools or even individual height points for a realistic visualisation of your building plot.
Work in a 3D mode
The flexible 3D mode lets you fully interact with the model, make direct changes to individual construction elements and their component parts using the new in-line measurement tool and dialogue boxes. Your projects can quickly be turned into a full visualisation scene.
Check light and shadows
Using the variable daylight settings feature you can apply local light to your 3D model by selecting your location anywhere in the world and importing latitude and longitude data from Google maps to check room lighting during different times of the day and shadow fall. Or select from a range of pre-set lighting scenes.
Edit surface textures
Apply and edit textures of surfaces, objects, fixtures and fittings to change their appearance and style. The texture library in Arcon Evo complements the fast scene building, editing and personalisation options in the software that combines close-to-reality quality with simple handling.
Use in-line measurements
The in-line measurements feature provides a fast, easy and visual method for making direct changes on-screen in and around selected elements. Usable in both 2D mode and 3D mode, in-line measurements can change the size and position of elements such as windows, doors, walls, roofs, skylights, dormers, stairs, symbols or furnishing items.
Comprehensive 3D object library
The standard object library has over 7,000 3D models for the furnishing and fittings of your project, including bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, dining spaces, gardens and offices. All objects can be resized, modified, or adjusted as needed. It’s easy to add to the library to increase your options using your own images or from catalogues.
Use a modular toolset
The modular toolset provides tools and icons for specific elements of the design in a logical manner. Each tool guides you through a particular part of the design process and will be familiar to users of Windows based software. Each tool can be customised and adapted to your preferred drawing style with fully flexible options, easily accessed at any time.
“The last time I wrote a quick review was about 6 years ago so for me to write something now definitely implies that this product is good and it really is! The guidelines tool is the bread and butter. This ensures my plan is 100% accurate every step of the way. I have managed to create various different projects from self builds from scratch to extensions, loft conversions, garage conversions and light commercial projects too.”
“This is our work tool we have and still use successfully on a daily basis. We recreate and design kitchens and bathrooms for our clients. It’s something they love seeing in a 3d model with all exact measurements. This is a solid piece of software that has never let us down!”
“I truly love this software because not only can I produce quality 2D plans that I regularly submit for planning permission, but the 3D visuals are superb when presenting proposals to my clients. We can chop and change things quickly and easily and it helps them to picture their dream design of course! It helps me come across more professional and I am certainly one step ahead of other architects.”
“I only wanted to design one project and that was an extension – another room was added above the garage. This took me just two weeks and it was certainly worth the money because the project looks beautiful. Even though I only needed software for one occasion, I always like to buy the best tools available.”
