Faster with Asta: How the Powerproject 2026 update will further drive project control and efficiency for construction teams

As part of our ongoing product development and commitment to our users, we take feedback on board and this insight helps to inform product updates. Launching mid-June, Asta Powerproject 2026 introduces requested features and functionality updates to further enhance project planning and execution.

Powerproject Updates
Filter enhancements
What changed: Users can now combine existing filters quickly, rather than creating more complicated rule sets.
Why it matters: Adds an extra layer of simplicity to working with extensive code libraries.
Benefits:
- Faster filter creation
- Reusable combined filters
- More efficient workflows
Excel/Word Integration with Library Explorer
What changed: Copy and paste functionality from Excel/Word into Library Explorer.
Why it matters: Working with larger code libraries is becoming more common to give data even more value; this functionality minimises the likehihood of error when working with extensive code libraries. An increased focus on data value will continue to be an important and prominent theme for construction projects of the future.
Benefits:
- Significantly reduced setup time
- Fewer manual entry errors
- Faster project input
Timeline Enhancements
What changed: Timeline items can now be coloured to match project code libraries.
Why it matters: It gives teams an at-a-glance view of resource needs and other critical timeline events.
Benefits:
- Better visual identification of resource availability
- Easier to identify busier periods
- Improved contractor scheduling visibility
Display Tasks By Resource
What changed: Tasks can be colour coded by resource and displayed in the same way you can view tasks by code library.
Why it matters: It maintains consistency with other tools in Powerproject, and further helps resource allocation.
Benefits:
- Easier to visualise resource allocation in just a couple of clicks
- Supports teams to get the information they need, faster
- No complicated set-up required
UI Improvements
What changed: There have been multiple changes to PowerProject’s interface including:
- Dynamic search for spreadsheet fields
- Pan/scroll with a grab-hand
- Milestone dates display
Why it matters: Quality-of-life improvements make Powerproject a more intuitive system to use; where previously some of its rich features have been more difficult to access.

- Easier navigation for new users
- More meaningful milestone information
- Overall improved user experience
Backwards Compatibility
What changed: Full backward combability with Version 17.
Why it matters: Eliminates the need to update file types when sharing between users on different versions.
Benefits:
- Seamless transition between versions
- Removes adoption barriers
- Enables mixed-version environments
Vision/Vision Live Updates
Programme Type Access Control
What changed: Admins can now control which programme types specific users can access in a project.
Why it matters: Enables orgs to maintain separate client-facing and internal-use programmes within the same project environment, increasing transparency while protecting sensitive information.
Benefits:
- Improved client collaboration without exposing sensitive data
- Enhanced trust through appropriate transparency
- Ability to safely invite clients to the platform
Create Projects from Powerproject Client
What changed: Projects can now be created directly in Powerproject that are Vision-ready, launching the browser immediately.
Why it matters: The previous workflow required creating projects in Vision first, which was a far clunkier process.
Benefits:
- Streamlined workflow between applications
- Reduced platform switching
- Faster project setup
Project Revision Management
What changed: The ability to delete project revisions, and the introduction of revision categories.
Why it matters: These features help keep historical data organised and relevant.

- More control over project history
SiteProgress Mobile Updates
Federated Identity Support
What changed: Users can now access SiteProgress via Microsoft Entra ID rather than maintaining separate login credentials.
Why is matters: Improves security and user management, particularly when employees leave. Admins can easily modify entry permissions across all applications.
Benefits:
- Simplified login experience for users
- Enhanced security through centralised identity management
- Reduced admin overheads
