BI Analyst

This is a great opportunity to join a successful public listed company as we seek to appoint a BI Analyst who will work across software products to support our customer’s data requirements and to support our strategic goals across the organisation.

Eleco plc (AIM: ELCO) is a specialist international provider of world class software and related services, supporting the built environment through its operations in the UK, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, and the USA.

The Company’s software solutions are used throughout the building lifecycle from early planning and design stages through to construction, interior fit out, asset management and facilities management to support project management, project scheduling, cost estimation, visualisation, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and property management.

Role purpose:

As a Business Intelligence Analyst (BI Analyst), you will be part of the Professional Services Team providing expert guidance and support to our clients in the UK. Your primary focus will be to understand customer requirements, collect data and interpret it correctly to generate valuable insights and trends. This will also be extended to internal reporting requirements from departments and from within the group.

Key responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify business areas that can benefit from data analysis.
  • Develop insightful Power BI reports that prioritise effective data visualisation techniques.
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive suite of internal Power BI dashboards to support company-wide reporting and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve anomalies in data collection processes to ensure data reliability.
  • Collaborate with team members to determine optimal reporting solutions and share expertise.
  • Utilise diverse data sources to create impactful reports and analysis.
  • Deliver interactive presentations and reports, effectively disseminating data to diverse audiences.
  • Participate in presales activities to showcase data capabilities and solutions.
  • Facilitate smooth implementation handover to internal stakeholders upon project completion.
  • Provide expert guidance and decision-making throughout the design process.
  • Capture and document technical requirements from customers and scope reports accordingly.
Essential skills/ prerequisites:
  • Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails.
  • Good Stakeholder management skills for internal and external stakeholders including the ability to document requirements and communicate analysis.
  • Good understanding of SQL Server database principles, structures, theories, practices and ETL processes.
  • Expertise in computer programming, data mining and data visualisation techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service.
  • Excellent mathematical skills, particularly in statistics.
Desirable skills:
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Problem-solving skills and creativity.
Qualifications

Essential qualifications:

  • 3-5 years working within a Data Engineer/BI Analyst role or graduate in computer science-related degree.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Microsoft Power BI Certification.

Working hours and location:

The normal working hours are from 9.00 -17.30 Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch (37.5-hour week). From time to time, you may be required to work additional hours to fully perform your job in accordance with the needs of the business.

Office based at Southampton, with the possible option of working from home for part of the week, subject to the needs of the business (Team Meetings, Training and Induction).
