General Construction: Asta Powerproject – Level 1 & 2

This course provides delegates with a structured introduction to construction planning and project control across a range of construction projects.

Day 1 – Creating a Project

Day 1 focuses on building a well-structured and fully linked project programme from the ground up. Delegates will learn how to set up calendars, create and link activities and understand key planning principles such as critical path and float. Delegates will explore techniques to add more details to their programmes including adding task activities, using code libraries and using hammock task to plan logistics.

Day 2 – Reporting, Monitoring & Controlling a Project

Day 2 concentrates on managing and communicating project performance. Delegates will learn how to use timelines and tables plus more, to present programme information clearly and specifically for the party they are reporting the information to. The course covers managing project baselines and updating progress to monitor performance against the plan.

At the end of the two-part course, delegates will feel confident creating and updating projects in Asta Powerproject, create a logic linked plan and recognise the critical path and float. You will understand how to structure projects, set up code libraries, update progress and print out the project with all necessary reporting.

A basic level of PC use and knowledge of Windows OS. Each delegate will work at a computer for the duration of the course.
